Combo S123 & G2
Description
The mining supervisor course combines the S123 site supervisor qualification and the G2 risk management unit into a single, structured course delivery. This gives workers pursuing their s123 and g2 qualification a faster, more efficient pathway to becoming a certified mine supervisor in Queensland. The course is designed for mine workers ready to step into a supervisory role and who need both qualifications to meet the site supervisor qualification requirements under Queensland mining law. No prior supervisory experience is required to enrol.
Workers who complete both units leave with the core mining supervisor qualifications recognised across Queensland coal and metalliferous mine sites, satisfying the statutory requirements placed on workers appointed to mine supervisor training roles under Queensland mining legislation. We have been delivering mine supervisor training in Queensland for 35 years. We deliver across Queensland locations, including Brisbane, making us one of the most accessible providers of the mining supervisor course Brisbane workers and regional Queensland miners rely on.

Career Opportunities After This Course
Mine Supervisor
A mine supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day safety and productivity of a crew or section on a mine site. Holding both the S123 and G2 satisfies the statutory qualification requirement for workers appointed to this mining supervisor role under Queensland mining law.
Site Supervisor
A site supervisor oversees operations and personnel across a designated section of a mine site, with safety compliance and team management central to the position. The S123 and G2 together form the site supervisor qualification required to legally hold this role on Queensland mine sites.
Shift Supervisor / Shift Boss
A shift supervisor manages all operations and personnel during a designated shift, ensuring the site safety plan is followed at all times. Completion of the mining supervisor course satisfies the prerequisite for appointment to this position on most Queensland mine sites.
Risk Facilitator
A risk facilitator leads the formal hazard identification and risk assessment process on a mine site, ensuring controls are in place before work begins. The G2, completed as part of this combined course, is the direct qualification requirement for workers appointed to this function on Queensland mine sites.

In quis laborum quis consequat dolor anim proident tempor irure culpa excepteur incididunt culpa. What is the difference between the S123 & G2 combo and booking each course separately?
The combo delivers both the s123 g2 qualifications in a single course, saving time and reducing the number of bookings required. Workers who need both qualifications can complete the combined course rather than coordinating two separate enrolments.
Do I need any prior mining experience to enrol in the combined course?
No prior supervisory experience is required. Workers should have a background in mining operations before enrolling, as the course is designed for those stepping up into a leadership role rather than those entering the industry for the first time.
How long does the combined course run?
Duration varies depending on delivery schedule and individual circumstances. Contact us directly for current timeframes at your preferred Queensland location.
What do I need to bring on the day?
Bring valid photo identification and your USI. If you are seeking recognition of prior learning for any component, bring supporting evidence of prior training. Arrive on time for the scheduled start.
