RII Supervisor – S123
Description
S1 S2 S3 training is the nationally recognised pathway for mine workers stepping into a supervisory role in Queensland. It is designed for experienced workers ready to take on responsibility for a team, a shift, or a section of a mine site. No prior supervisory experience is required to enrol.
The course covers the core competencies needed to lead and manage safely in a mining environment. Successful participants leave with a nationally recognised qualification that meets Queensland’s statutory requirements for supervision roles on mine sites. This satisfies the regulatory obligations set out under Queensland mining legislation for anyone appointed to a supervisory position.

In quis laborum quis consequat dolor anim proident tempor irure culpa excepteur incididunt culpa. What is the difference between S123, G189, G1 G8 G9 and MSSS?
These terms all refer to the same qualification or its direct equivalent. The naming has changed over time as the national competency framework was updated, and different sites and providers use different codes, but the underlying certification is the same.
Can I complete S1, S2 and S3 separately, or does it need to be done as a combined course?
S1, S2 and S3 can be completed as separate units or as a combined course depending on your prior recognition and the delivery schedule available. Contact the team to confirm the right enrollment pathway for your situation.
How long does the course run?
Course duration varies depending on whether you are completing all three units or individual components. Contact us directly for current scheduling and delivery timeframes at your preferred location.
What do I need to bring on the day?
Bring valid photo identification, your USI, and any evidence of prior training or competencies if you are seeking recognition of prior learning. Wear appropriate clothing for a training environment and arrive on time for the scheduled start.
What happens if I do not pass the assessment?
If you do not pass the assessment, you will have the opportunity to be reassessed. The trainer will give you feedback on where you need to focus, and the pathway to resubmission will be outlined clearly at the time.
How long does it take to receive my certificate after completing the course?
Certificates are typically issued within a short period following successful completion and assessment. Contact the team at enrolment if you have a specific start date requirement so this can be factored in.
