Description

BMA Underground Induction is a mandatory site-specific induction for workers starting at BMA’s Broadmeadow underground coal mine in Moranbah. It must be completed before workers can commence on site. This applies to all workers entering Broadmeadow operations regardless of their role or prior mining experience.

Completion of the BMA Underground Induction satisfies the site access requirement set by BMA for CMWs going underground at Broadmeadow. We deliver this induction from Moranbah, placing the course close to site and minimising travel time for workers with an upcoming start date.

BMA Underground Induction is compulsory for anyone entering Broadmeadow underground. It covers site access and tagging, traffic and transport rules, hazard reporting, isolation and permit systems, gas monitoring awareness, strata and ground control basics, PPE standards, and emergency response procedures including self-rescuer awareness, escapeways, and refuge chamber protocols.

A current Site Surface induction for Broadmeadow is required. Bring government photo ID, long sleeves, long pants, steel-cap boots, and ensure you have a valid USI.
Delivery is one full day (7:45am–4:00pm) and includes classroom learning and site-specific practical orientation followed by an underground familiarisation walk at Site. The classroom session is run in Moranbah.

Participants complete knowledge checks and a structured practical orientation aligned with Broadmeadow requirements. BMA Underground Induction certification is issued 2–3 business days after all evidence and USI verification is confirmed.
